雨drops started falling from the sky like a curtain, each one heavy enough to knock down a tree. The sound of rain hitting the ground was so loud that it seemed like thunder.
The villagers scrambled to find shelter, but I was caught outside. My clothes were soaked through in no time, and I could feel the cold seeping into my bones. It was as if someone had turned on a faucet and wouldn't turn it off – water poured down relentlessly, flooding streets and fields alike.
I tried to make my way back home but it was hard work wading through knee-deep water. Every step felt like climbing Mount Everest! The wind howled and buffeted me about, making it hard to keep my footing.
That night after the storm passed, our village looked like a different place altogether – roads were swollen rivers; roofs were transformed into vast lakes; trees stood tall with their leaves stripped bare by the gusts of wind... It was not just any ordinary rain; this one left us all speechless – "不堪言" indeed!
We spent days cleaning up after that ordeal but there's still much work to be done. Yet we are grateful for another day under the sun (and hopefully without too many more storms).
