白马盟社会中的代写情书之谜
汉高祖晚年，宠爱戚夫人，她生子如意，被封为赵王。汉高祖担心太子的软弱，曾想改立如意，但遭大臣反对。后来请了四位隐士“商山四皓”辅佐太子。汉高祖知道无法废太子，便对戚夫人说：“太子有助，如翅膀长硬，不可更改。”戚夫人伤心无言。
在讨伐英布时，汉高祖中箭病重。一次有人告诫他樊哙与吕后谋逆，他大怒，派陈平、周勃去军营斩樊哙。但两人私下商议不杀，因怕后悔。最后樊哙被关囚车送到长安，由吕后释放。
病重的汉高祖召集大臣，再宰一匹白马，让他们歃血誓盟，大臣们宣誓：“非刘姓不得封王非功臣不得封侯违背者共同讨伐。”Han Gaozu finally put his mind at ease.
When Han Gaozu died, he entrusted the matters of state to Lu Zhi. She planned to kill all the generals who had helped him rise to power, fearing they would rebel after his death. However, this plan was leaked and she was forced to change her mind.
After Han Gaozu's death, Prince Liu Ying ascended the throne as Emperor Hui. Lu Zhi became Empress Dowager and held great power. She resented Princess Huo and King Zhao Ying (Prince Liu Ying) and eventually had them punished: she made Princess Huo a slave and brought King Zhao Ying back from his fiefdom.
Emperor Hui discovered Lu Zhi's plot against his brother and kept him in the palace for protection. One day while Emperor Hui was practicing archery outside, he decided not to wake up King Zhao Ying who was sleeping soundly. When he returned to the palace later that day, he found King Zhao Ying dead; it is believed that he was poisoned by Lu Zhi's agents.
Lu Zhi then ordered Princess Huo's hands and feet cut off, her eyes gouged out before forcing her to eat a poison pill and threw her into a pigsty. This ordeal left Emperor Hui heartbroken; he fell ill upon seeing what happened to Princess Huo.
The story ends with Emperor Hui unable to bear witnessing such cruelty by his mother.
